Beartooth Highway

Beartooth Highway is in northwest Wyoming and southern Montana. It begins in Red Lodge, Montana and travels southwest to Yellowstone National Park. The byway follows US 212 for 68 miles. US Highway 212 is a two-lane paved road suitable for all vehicles. Beartooth Highway is usually open late May through mid-October. Portions of the route are groomed in winter for snowmobile use.

Bighorn Scenic Byway

Bighorn scenic byway is in north-central Wyoming 21 miles west of Sheridan. It follows US 14 between Dayton and Shell, a distance of 58 miles. US Highway 14 is a two-lane paved road suitable for all vehicles. Temporary closure by snow is possible in winter, otherwise the byway remains open year-round. Forty miles are officially designated a National Forest Scenic Byway.

Cloud Peak Skyway

Cloud Peak Skyway is 35 miles south of Sheridan in north-central Wyoming. It begins in Buffalo and travels west to Ten Sleep. The byway is 67 miles long and follows US 16, a two-lane paved road suitable for all vehicles. Temporary closure by snow is possible in winter, otherwise the byway is open all year. Wyoming has officially designated 47 miles as a state scenic byway. The US Forest Service designated 43 miles as a National Forest Scenic Byway.

John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway

John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway is in northwest Wyoming. It follows US 89 between Grant Village and Moose, a distance of 82 miles. US Highway 89 is a two-lane paved road suitable for all vehicles. The highway north of Flagg Ranch is not maintained during winter; access to Yellowstone National Park is by snowmobile or commercial snow coach. The portion from Moran Junction to Moose is also part of the Wyoming Centennial byway.

Medicine Wheel Passage Scenic Byway

Medicine Wheel Passage is 47 miles west of Sheridan in north-central Wyoming. It follows a 27-mile segment of US 14A, a two-lane paved road suitable for all vehicles. Medicine Wheel Passage is usually open May to mid-November.

North Fork Highway

North Fork Highway is in northwest Wyoming about 20 miles west of Cody. If follows US 14 (also US 16 and US 20) between Wapiti and Pahaska. The 30-mile byway is a two-lane paved road that is suitable for all types of vehicles. US Highway 14 is usually open all year. West of Pahaska, US 14 enters Yellowstone National Park; this road is closed mid-November through March. It is groomed for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. North Fork Highway is also known as the Buffalo Bill Cody scenic byway.

Red Gulch / Alkali Back Country Byway

Red Gulch / Alkali is ten miles east of Greybull in north-central Wyoming. It is 32 miles long and follows the Red Gulch / Alkali Road, which is a gravel and dirt road. The byway requires a two-wheel drive, high-clearance vehicle to complete. It is open May through October but can become impassable after periods of rain.

Seminoe to Alcova Back Country Byway

Seminoe to Alcova is 32 miles southwest of Casper in south-central Wyoming. The byway is 64 miles long and follows CR 351 and CR 407. The gravel roads vary from single-lane to two lanes and are suitable for most vehicles. Motorhomes and vehicles pulling trailers are discouraged from traveling the portion from Semino State Park to Miracle Mile. Seminoe to Alcova is usually open May to early December.

Snowy Range Highway

Snowy Range Highway is in southern Wyoming 30 miles west of Laramie. It begins in Centennial and travels west to WY 230. The byway is 40 miles long and follows WY 130, a two-lane paved road suitable for all vehicles. Snowy Range Highway is open late May through early November. Thirty miles are officially designated a National Forest Scenic Byway.

South Bighorn / Red Wall Back Country Byway

South Bighorn / Red Wall is 13 miles northwest of Casper in central Wyoming. The 101-mile byway follows a series of Natrona County Roads that are a combination gravel and dirt roads. Although the roads are well maintained, a two-wheel drive, high-clearance vehicle is recommended. The byway is usually open May through November; portions may become impassable after periods of rain.
