Beaver Canyon Scenic Byway

Beaver Canyon is in southwest Utah about 50 miles northeast of Cedar City. The byway begins off I-15 in Beaver and travels east on UT 153 to Junction, a distance of about 40 miles. From Beaver to the Elk Meadows Ski Area, UT 153 is a two-lane paved road suitable for all vehicles. This portion remains open year-round. From the ski area to Junction, UT 153 is an unpaved, dry-weather-only road and is usually closed in winter.

Big Cottonwood Canyon Scenic Byway

Big Cottonwood Canyon is in north-central Utah about 13 miles south of downtown Salt Lake City. It begins in Cottonwood Heights at the intersection of Wasatch Boulevard and UT 190. It heads east for 15 miles and ends in Brighton. Utah Highway 190 is a two-lane paved road suitable for all types of vehicles. Delays are possible in winter and snow tires or chains may be required November through April.

Boulder Mountain Highway

Boulder Mountain Highway is 150 miles east of Cedar City in south-central Utah. It follows UT 12 for 30 miles between Grover and Boulder. Utah Highway 12 is a two-lane road suitable for all vehicles. Temporary closure is possible in winter, otherwise the byway remains open all year.

Brian Head - Panguitch Lake Scenic Byway

The Brian Head - Panguitch Lake scenic byway is located in southwest Utah. It begins in Parowan and travels south to the Cedar Breaks National Monument where it then travels northeast to Panguitch. The 55-mile route follows UT 143, a two-lane paved road suitable for all vehicles. The byway is usually open year-round.

Bull Creek Pass Back Country Byway

Bull Creek Pass is in southeast Utah between Capitol Reef National Park and Canyonlands National Park. The byway forms an open loop drive west of UT 95 and UT 276. Northern access is off UT 95 about 20 miles south of Hanksville. The byway travels through remote country along Bull Creek Pass Road, which is a single-lane dirt road with numerous rough sections, steep grades, and blind curves. A four-wheel drive vehicle is strongly recommended for traveling this Back Country Byway. Bull Creek Pass is usually open year-round in the lower elevation. Roads in the higher elevation generally remain passable July through October. Sections of road can be washed out after periods of heavy rain.
